I Am Here!!!

Happy New Year!!! 

My name is Kaya and I am 10 years old. I started this blog for children with diabetes and to show you can still enjoy being a kid.
First, I'd like to write a little summary on how I found out I had diabetes. 
I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes on Wednesday May 28, 2008. I was just in Kindergarten, and my teacher started to notice weird things going on with me. My teacher called my mother to come and pick me up. Later that day, my mother took me to the hospital at 3:30pm. When the nurse checked my blood glucose and it was 500 from what I can remember. That was the day I was told I had Type 1 Diabetes and it has been a part of my life ever since.
